Shinwell Walk


This project was a tired 3-bed mid-terraced house which we converted into a 5-bed professional HMO with 3 ensuites and a bathroom shared between the two remaining bedrooms. Again, we gutted the property to be able to re-arrange the internal layout to minimise wasted space and maximise the layout to best benefit the tenants’ lifestyle.

We added noise and thermal insulation in all internal and external walls to minimise noise and energy loss. As our tenants can work all different shift patterns in and around Gatwick, it is important to them to minimise disturbance from their fellow housemates and to always come home to a warm house, no matter what time of day or night they return from work.

By gutting the property, it allowed us to install wired Ethernet cables and USB plug sockets into every bedroom and the communal spaces. We also installed aerial points into bedrooms. Every bedroom is wired individually meaning that if one room is circuited, then no one else is affected.

As space was restricted in this property we used clever design to incorporate a dining and relaxing lounge area into the kitchen and thus provided the tenants with a multi-use area.
